Miss this spot. Grew up going here and so sad to see this place closed. The pupusas were the bomb!

Whoa. This place is pretty good to get your Salvadorian food fix. We went on a Monday for a late lunch. Looks like street parking only. On a weekday, it was no issue. The outside of the restaurant looks more like a house and the inside it's pretty spacious. Nice hole in the wall type of place with pretty good and reasonably priced food. There were 7 of us so I got to try a sampling of things. YUCA CON CHICHARRONES - Fried yuca goodness. The pork was a little overcooked and dry to me. PASTELITOS DE PUERCO - Fried pork empanadas had a lot of flavor with a nice light crunch. So so good. TAMAL DE PUERCO - I really really enjoyed the tamale. It felt lighter than a Mexican tamale and a great flavor from the banana leaf. PUPUSA DE LOROCO Y QUESO - I was soo full from everything else that I had to take this home. It was good, but probably would of been a lot better fresh. Our waitress was friendly, but service was a little slow. She was nice enough to pack up our leftovers with salsa and the pickled cabbage. Overall, I would come back. CASH ONLY.

My first time having a Panes Con Pavo, the Salvadorean turkey sandwich. I have heard so much about this sandwich and it did live up to the expectation. It is shredded Turkey with a sauce made of different spices and mustard, on top of a pan frances (bolillo or French bread), with slices of tomato, radish, and cucumber. There is also a onion and mayo spread somewhere in there. This already loaded sandwich is topped off with curtido (chopped cabbage mix). This is the type of sandwich you eat with a knife and fork. Delish! The yucca fritas with curtido and some of the house sauce that comes in a bottle, makes an awesome bite. I also tried their loroco (green edible flower) pupusa which was cheesy and delish. I love the burnt cheese that oozes out. I will return!

Big Large Grande Pupusas are served here. Had a cheese y una revuelta. Also tried the beans & rice that comes with cheese and crema. Staff is nice and attentive. Parking is ONLY street but there is a city lot a block away if you don't find spaces in front of the restaurant. All tasted good. No complaints here. Try this place out.

I love this place! The Atol de elote - The pupusas are really good too. ( my mom still makes the best) but these are a pretty close second. I've been coming here for many years now and it hasn't changed. I usually order the salpicón (super delicious) With 4 pupusas de queso con loroco. And i finish with the Atol de elote. Cash only, so come prepared. They have an ATM, but i usually try to avoid those extra fees. Overall probably my favorite Salvadoran restaurant. They have great food, great service, and it has a homey feel to it.

That was so delicious! Thank God for traffic (and who's grateful for that?), which led me off a beaten path to this Yelper 5-star restaurant. If it hadn't been on Yelp, it epuld have remained the local spot, as it's a converted house (inside!) on a busy street. Thank God for free meters after 6pm. My party had never had El Salvadorian food. I love pupusas. Here we go... Auntie had a chicken tamale. As they steam in banana leaves, it made it that much more delicious. Mom had a pork tamale. It wasn't as flavorful as the chicken, bit it was tender. They had casamiento (rice, beans, and cheese cooked together). It was different. The sour cream is fresh and DELICIOUS! I had a pupusa con frijoles (beans), queso (cheese), y carnitas (pork). SO good! So much better with that crack-addictive pickled slaw. I ordered atol-something, thinking it was that sweet wet cornbread, and a soup came out. Lol. I'm game. --and so glad I did! It was a creamy corn pudding. Tastes like dessert custard. Yum!!! I had horchata without reading that it was chocolate horchata. Pass. Everything else makes this worth driving back through L.A. traffic, and bringing friends.

I've never had Salvadorian food before and when Tim C recommended this place, I knew I had to try it. His review was very positive and spot on with the portions here. I left very full and needed coffee after lunch to stay awake. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside and reminds me of a house on the corner of a street. There is no private lot so street parking in the residential area or metered parking. We got lucky with metered parking near the restaurant and it was Sunday which meant it was free. The interior is open concept with friendly staff all over the restaurant. There are big screen TV's in the corners of the dining area. Lucky for me, they were playing the game when I was eating. I ordered their Pupusas (Pupusa Revuelta and Pupusa De Loroco Y Queso) and their Horchata. Pupusas are very filling with their pickled cabbage. It added texture and different layers of flavor to the Pupusas. Make sure to try their house sauce in the red bottles and hot sauce if you want some kick to the dish. The Horchata had a unique flavor and complimented the meal. Much mahalo Tim C for recommending this place!
